Since 2009 I have made it a custom to paint a self-portrait before the start of the Hebrew New Year (and sometimes continuing beyond it). This combines the painterly challenge of studying one’s own face with the challenges of time passing and the changes it brings. You may read what I wrote about the series in 2014 here. The second decade of the series opened in 2019 with a change in the dimensions and size of the canvas (continuing the reduction in width of the previous two years).
